Accessibility statement preview
Designed to be used,
not only seen.
DubaiFlorida is designed toward WCAG 2.2 AA and is being tested. This preview explains what is built in, what is not finished, and how feedback will be accepted.
Preview status
A standard we design toward, still being tested.
DubaiFlorida is designed toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Testing is in progress, and the site does not claim conformance.
This is a preview of the accessibility statement. The final statement will be published with the responsible entity and a contact before any website form collects information.
Built in
What the site is designed to do.
- Motion you control
- Every opening film plays on its own and has a visible Pause control. Once paused, a film stays still until you choose Play. Decorative scroll motion and smooth scrolling switch off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Keyboard and focus
- Links, menus, and controls are designed to work from the keyboard, with a visible focus indicator, a skip link to the main content, and a menu that closes with Escape and brings focus back to its button.
- Text alternatives
- Meaningful images carry written descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers. Background films play without sound and carry no information that is not also in the text.
- Contrast and readable type
- Text uses relative sizes that respond to browser zoom, comfortable line lengths, and contrast levels chosen against the target standard.
- Structure and forms
- Each page has one main heading and ordered sections. Form fields have visible labels, required fields are marked in words, and errors are explained in text.
Known limitations
What is not finished yet.
- Testing is in progress
- Checks across browsers, devices, zoom levels, and assistive technologies are still under way, and findings are fixed as they are found.
- Visual concepts
- Artist visualizations carry more detail than a written description can hold. Descriptions summarize what each image is meant to show.
- No conformance claim yet
- The site will not be described as conforming to the standard until testing is complete and the results support that statement.
- No feedback channel yet
- There is no channel yet on this website for reporting a barrier. The final statement will provide one.
How it is checked
How the site is being tested.
Pages are being checked with a keyboard alone, with reduced motion turned on, at high zoom, and at widths from wide desktop screens down to small phones. Headings, labels, focus order, and form messages are part of every review.
Corrections are made in the shared source, so a fix reaches every page of the site at once. Testing with screen readers and other assistive technologies is part of the work before any conformance claim.
Questions
Accessibility questions, answered.
How do I stop the film on the home page?
Use the Pause control in the opening view. It works with a mouse, touch, or keyboard, and the film stays paused until you choose Play.
Will the site respect my reduced-motion setting?
Decorative scroll motion and smooth scrolling switch off when your device asks for reduced motion. The opening films play on their own on every device, and the visible Pause control stops them at any time.
Can I use the site with a keyboard alone?
That is the intent. A skip link leads to the main content, focus stays visible, and the menu opens, closes with Escape, and brings focus back to its button.
How will I report a barrier or ask for another format?
The final statement will name the responsible entity and give a direct way to report a barrier or request information in another format. There is no channel on this website yet.
